Helicopter for emergency medical transport in Rep. of Moldova
A new achievement regarding the medical emergency transportation is now available in the Republic of Moldova. Following the project by which in March 2014 thirty-two fully equipped ambulances were launched, starting with July 2014 emergency transportation can be also made by helicopter, after 21 years of absence.
EYECON MEDICAL has completely equipped a Mil Mi-2 helicopter made in Poland, after the Ministry of Health received it from the Ministry of Transportation in the republic, with the aim of being used within the National Scientific-Pratic Center for Emergency Medicine.
The military helicopter, fitted out and converted into a medical flight vehicle, is now managed by the emergency hospital in the capital and will ensure complete medical assistance during transportation of patients from the whole country to the hospitals in Chisinau. 32 landing areas have been arranged in all districts, thus creating optimal conditions so that any seriously injured person, complicated pregnant woman, premature new-born or even transplantation organ can safely arrive in the shortest time possible at destination.
The aircraft can transport maximum 6 persons at a time - two pilots, two doctors, and two patients, it can reach 200 km/h speed and flies at 4000 m altitude, with an autonomy of 440 km.
